Ski America

Stowe, described as a "skiers paradise" and located on Mt. Mansfield, Vermont's highest peak at 4,395 ft, is one of the most expansive and modern ski resorts in Vermont. of skiing from groomed cruisers to bump runs. Stowe Village, just 6 miles from the mountain, is a quintessential New England town of cosy inns and clapboard houses, with rich cultural and historic links to Austria and Olde England, creating a unique and charming ski trip.

While the trails are classic, the lifts are modern with a state-of-the-art eight person gondola that whisks skiers from bottom to top in a blazing seven and a half minutes. Added to this is Stowe's impressive snowmaking covering 73% of all trails and its fantastic annual snowfall record, allowing the mountain to maintain a great snow base throughout the season.

The 485 acres of ski terrain are split between Mt. Mansfield and Spruce Peak. For the novice skiers and riders, there's an entire mountain (Spruce Peak) criss-crossed with easygoing runs which is a perfect base for beginners to learn and intermediates to progress. Once beginners have gained their confidence, the instructors will lead them to the top of Mt. Mansfield where they can ski almost 4 miles down "Toll Road" a fabulous green that snakes through the trees. Intermediates are superbly catered for with good progression runs on both peaks such as 'Perry Merrill' and 'Gondolier' and with the longest average trail length in New England, be prepared to spend some time on the mountain! Advanced skiers can really challenge themselves on the infamous "Front Four" – 'Starr', 'Goat', 'National' and 'Lift Line' – arguably the most exciting runs in the East. Snowboarders are welcomed at the special "Burton Learn-to-Ride Centre" located on Spruce Peak or in the "Tyro" terrain park where catching air is a real hit!

Groups can also enjoy the slopes of Mt. Mansfield under a canopy of stars and ride the gondola onto several night skiing trails open from 5-9pm approximately every weekend until mid-March.
